The Name Game

One of the first things that caught my eye in Japan was the fact that many businesses have adopted English names. Not just English versions of Japanese names such as “Honda” but just flat out English names. The phenomenon was so wide spread that I began writing down the names in a notebook as we rode past them on the bus. As a consequence I don’t know what each and everyone of these businesses do but the names remain intriguing and amusing.
